Amazingly 90% of our behaviour is driven by our unconscious mind.
If you can imagine the unconscious mind works a bit like a computer that holds our programmes, so that once we have learned a belief, action or skill whereby it becomes automatic, it becomes part of our own database. For example, this could be like driving a car or brushing our teeth. When an action is required, the unconscious helps us by running through the ‘programmes’ that it perceives to be the right response. Therefore, if we continually think, feel and behave in ways that are unhelpful to us, it is very likely that the root cause can be found in the unconscious mind. Cognitive hypnotherapy works by updating the unconscious mind, by reframing past experiences, so that the unconscious gives that information a different meaning so that it equals ‘not the problem’. With the unconscious mind updated, it allows the client to let go of their negative experiences and move forwards, living the life they desire.
The therapist and client work together to achieve a specific goal, as Cognitive Hypnotherapy isn’t something done to you, it’s a collaborative act. Its aim is to let the client realise that they have the power within themselves to unlock the knowledge and skills needed, to let them take back control of their own thoughts, feelings and behaviours. We believe the client has arrived at their issue through a series of experiences unique to them. Treatment is not a ‘one size fits all’ approach, it is tailored to the needs of each individual. Every client is provided with a unique audio recording (Wordweaving) designed to move them towards their solution state.
